I’m honestly surprised. I finished this book in just a day and a half! Since English isn’t my first language, I usually take more time to read, even with fast-paced thrillers. But The Tenant completely pulled me in. It’s the third domestic thriller I’ve read by Freida McFadden ( I think), and once again, she delivered exactly what I was hoping for.

Of course, there are more complex or “better-written” thrillers out there, but if you’re in a reading slump or looking for something that’s easy to get into and hard to put down, you really can’t go wrong with McFadden. She knows how to keep the pages turning.

I actually enjoyed the book quite a bit—and found some parts surprisingly funny! One of the plot twist was predictable (especially after that scene with the fish), but that didn’t ruin the experience for me. I liked the way the story was divided into three parts, similar to The Housemaid, though I really disliked being in Blake’s point of view. Still, it was an entertaining read.
