this would be a good read for someone who’s living abroad away from their family as they may resonate with Eilis’ journey.
at some points, i like how Eilis is not afraid to try something new. however, her passive personality that prevents her from saying what she really wants to say — especially that moment when she is finally come back to Enniscorthy after Rose died — to her mother, old friends, and Jim, it really annoys me.
but THANK GOD she chooses Brooklyn in the end!!!! can’t imagine what i’d do if she chooses Jim and stays in Ireland
