Cane by Jean Toomer
3.0

Part one was my favorite, with Toomer's description of various women that stuck with him through his life. It depicts how women were viewed in a different time. Part three, Kabnis, was horrifying, yet, fascinating. It was real. It was part of what life was. It's a good book to teach in order to show how the Harlem Renaissance effected poetry, prose, and life overall.
