This is why I love reading books about the experience of other people.
I had no idea the love/hate relationship women have with their hair.
Okay - I had an idea. I know women.
But when you aren't a member of a group, you don't know what the experience is like. That's why I like books like this.
It gives you much more depth of experience - to hear women talk about their hair, their experiences, and their love/hate relationship with it.
But it's much deeper than that - much, much deeper.
It's about women's relationship with society and culture. It gets into a ton of stuff - like gender roles, sexism, self-esteem.
It's that kind of understanding I like.
Plus, the book is well-done, funny, and enjoyable!
