When Breath Becomes Air
by Paul Kalanithi
I encountered this book in the meaningful way I expected. It is profound, loving, descriptive, informative, kind. I was surprised by how the medical details held my rapt attention, but of course, those details are the drama of this story. The pages flew by. This book is a contribution to our collective understanding of death, and I give thanks to its author for fighting to write it.
