The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick
4.0

I bought into the childlike, yet at times profound voice of the narrator who returns home to face his life and family after a stint in a mental health facility. The voice seemed genuine to me and helped guide this story of how the protagonist emerges and ultimately triumphs over a rough period in his life. (Feel I must add -- as I only ended up reading the book because of the movie -– is that I liked the book more, mainly because you experience the protagonist’s journey with him yet are removed and objective as a reader. I didn't feel the changes to the characters and plot were necessary, or that they were in some way to complicated to transfer to the screen. If they had been more faithful to the book, I think it would have been a more heartfelt movie.)
