My Vampire Plus-One
by Jenna Levine
DID NOT FINISH: 47%
dnf about 50%
Let me just start this by saying for me to dnf a vampire book that doesnt have any weird sexual content your book had to be pretty bad. First, and my biggest problem with the book was Amelia. Shes the most boring character you will ever read. Shes a tax expert too so i think that tells everyone enough. I just dont understand how Jenna Levine had the opportunity to write whatever character she wanted and this is what she wrote. This also leads me to my second biggest problem; Amelias pov takes up like 85% of the book. When we do get the occasional Reginald pov, it is never for an entire chapter. It always switches back to Amelia. Finally, the last thing I’ll actually talk about is how repetitive this book is. Every chapter follows the same formula of them meeting up, Reggie giving hints about him being a vampire, Amelia being like thats odd but whatever, Reggie almost telling her something important, and them being interrupted. This also happens multiple times in single chapters. Also, how many times can a man smirk and smile in his life?? Overall this book had many flaws. I was never truly enjoying it because nothing was really happening. The chapters were too long and honestly it felt like a worse version of the first book, which was already mid.
