Design Mom: How to Live with Kids: A Room-by-Room Guide by Gabrielle Stanley Blair, Gabrielle Stanley Blair

4.0

As the mom of a toddler with a small apartment, I initially was very put off by this book, especially because of the beautiful photographs of large, unbabyproofed interiors. And all the "art" with cheesy inspirational messages.

But once I read further (and tried to tune out the photography), I found the book filled with practical advice about organizing your space. And as someone who knows very very little about home decorating, I appreciated the breakdown of the virtues of different materials, like for rugs or kitchen chairs.

I do wish some attention was devoted to babyproofing and apartment-living, though. That said, I think it's a great resource for home-owners with older children.
