Drown: A Twisted Take on the Classic Fairy Tale
by Esther Dalseno
I literally just read this because there were mermaids and now my heart is a destroyed, empty chasm so... That's nice, I guess. I'll just... Insert some extracts I especially loved and then idk go drown in sorrow or something. (Sorry, I had to)
Seriously though, the writing is so absorbing and amazing, I'm surprised it doesn't have like 30,000 reviews on Goodreads or something.
He felt that burning in his chest, the burning he had not felt in years: happiness.
The small streak of humanity that was unable to be bred out of the merfolk had grasped onto the idea of love and hungered to gnaw it to the bone.
There was another fear, a deeper fear that purred like a sleeping dragon beneath the fractured pattern of thoughts.
Seriously though, the writing is so absorbing and amazing, I'm surprised it doesn't have like 30,000 reviews on Goodreads or something.
