This book was excellent! Gifty’s letters to god exposing her day to day grappling with her faith reminded me a lot of my childhood thoughts and questions. The tragic toll addiction and mental illness take on her family was hard to read about. The child’s perspective slowly unraveling keeps you reading every word. I appreciated that it mixed the stories in with Gifty’s current reality. This was a really special book.
