Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse

reread

it’s interesting how much you forgot about a book you were obsessed with.

anyway this was enjoyable. nara and xiala are my favs. i remember rooting for nara the first time i read this but this time i found her chapters more interesting than serapio okoa and xialas pov.

anyway on to the next

first read
i loved this book and was hooked from chapter one. the world and characters are great. you really feel for the characters even if they are doing wrong or are messing up. there were four povs and i liked all. one was frustrating to go through but i still was rooting for them. i lived the world even though it was confusing at times. i find that explore lore and cultures that are not typically found in fantasy interesting and immersive.

many say the ending is a cliffhanger but i disagree. i think you get a complete story with some lose ends. ppl have also complained about the beginning being slow but i also disagree and found every part of this book entertaining. this is very much a mostly character driven story and if you are not connecting with the characters than you will not enjoy it.

i’ve already started the second book and will probably stick with series till the end.
