Boy-Crazy Stacey by Ann M. Martin, Gale Galligan

2.0

Stacey is pretty annoying in this book. I feel like in this book, the characters didn't have any character. They were just talking, being funny, and doing things (this book was pretty short and had a small, boring plot). In the Gale Galligan adaptations (particularly this one), I also noticed that the characters have exaggerated expressions a lot, especially when there is a sad moment or when something big happens. They have to make the moment funny so it won't be too sad, maybe. That kind of style (cartoon animation) is very common in more modern books. I like Raina Telegmeier's adaptation of the series because the characters have more personalities and they aren't trying to have a reaction all the time. There are so many more things the author could have done to this book to make it better.
