No One Can Know by Kate Alice Marshall

3.0

I wanted to know, but you spend many, many pages no knowing with our messy, unlikeable cast before any of the secrets are spilled and, when they do, there are more questions than answers.
Spoiler Protagonist Emma had it rough with her abusive parents plus shitty sisters that let her take the fall for the murders (still unclear if the mom's death was murder or suicide?) Also it seems like Daphne is a psychopath who manufactured at least 60% of the criminal activity in this novel (minus the dad's drug dealing and cheating husband Nathan's get rich schemes, including maybe Emma's car accident?) so Emma's parenting is questionable letting her around that baby. But at least she has the (hopefully nice, non-criminal) hot brooding man that got away.
) I didn't hate it but Marshall's prior novel was much better in my opinion.
