The Stone Sky by N.K. Jemisin
2.0
Closer to 2.5 stars.
Out of the trilogy, I enjoyed the first one the most. My enjoyment went downhill from there, but I really wanted to see this through.
At times I enjoyed it, but I really struggled to get used to the new perspective. People mentioned being surprised by the ending but I wasn't, really.
I will say that I love Jemisin's writing style. But, like the notes in the back of the book imply, she did come on some hard times while writing this, and I do think that might've had an impact on some passages in the book.
With the knowledge I have now, I really would only recommend the first book of the trilogy. I read that one a few years ago, though, so I don't know if it would work as a stand-alone.
