The Hollow Half: A Memoir of Bodies and Borders

Sarah Aziz's memoir is gut wrenching in all the ways that pain is meant to open us up and feel our shared humanity.
Her life as the daughter of a Palestinian father and American mother - meant she knows and loves both worlds, languages and cultures deeply. But as she writes - to be of both is to be in conflict, confusion and often full of loss.
Her deftly drawn parallels between her debilitating eating disorder, trying to erase herself and the systemic political erasure of her Palestinian family and the Palestine people are chilling.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
