Disability Visibility (Adapted for Young Adults): 17 First-Person Stories for Today by Alice Wong

challenging informative inspiring reflective fast-paced

4.0

This is a must have book for middle school collections and up and I think all ELA teachers should read this book because it has such great short essays that could be used as mentor texts in classrooms as they are all short enough to digest in a single class, but have enough depth to inspire deep conversations and thinking with students. There are a variety of perspectives, people, and disabilities included in the book. It was a really quick read, but definitely opened my eyes to new ways of seeing the world and how disability affects living in the current world.
