what a fuckin cliffhanger. yarros’ transition into high fantasy definitely could have been smoother. i mean the last book was 70% arguments between violet & xaden. i was kind of annoyed with them this book, too; however, they weren’t really fighting, which was a win for me. honestly, this book was mainly history and lore with barely any action inbetween. i truly don’t understand why she decided to make the transition in the third book. i’m curious as to where this is headed & i had a decent time with this one. it was just a heavy read, considering how much information needed to be taken in, and took me forever to finish. if you’re not used to high fantasy, this probably won’t be for you. at least it was done better than cc3 lmao 4 stars
