The Last Black Unicorn by Tiffany Haddish
2.0

1.5 terribly sad stars.

I really dig Tiffany Haddish’s work on movies and tv. But this memoir is disjointed and unpolished.

Not unreadable, not even unenjoyable, except...

Haddish is unrepentant in her abusive language and stance toward the mentally and physically handicapped. She uses the “r” word, and spends an unbelievably large chunk of the book describing her relationship with a handicapped man in terms so politically incorrect that I have trouble understanding how they got published. Not to mention that, in the audio, she does an impression of the man’s voice that I can only imagine is triggering to anyone with mental or physical handicaps themselves or in their family.

Listen, I’m not trying to be the political correctness police, but there comes a point when something is just not funny. Not clever. Not tolerable. And Haddish’s book, by 60%, was at that point for me. DNF, very bummed.
