“I beg your pardon, but is this a romance or is it an adventure. For I will remind you we are missing the on going action.”
Charlotte & Alex exchanged a smiling glance, “I think what this is defies definition.” Charlotte said.
“Which is only right,” Alex added “We Charlotte, are the makers of manners.”
Oh this is zany, wacky & a bit bonkers but in the best way. This book doesn’t take itself seriously & neither should you 😉 Seriously this had me giggling & blushing the whole way through… it’s a lovely romp around England in an effort to steal an already stolen powerful talisman, the lost amulet of Black Beryl. The pirates & the witches are both involved and mayhem ensues! This is the second book in a fun Victorian fantasy series with a bit of romance, magic, pirates, scoundrels, thieves & then throw in some witches making this a crazy ride. It had me laughing out loud & the banter is perfection. I loved all the literary references! The romance is swoony but gets a bit spicy & required a bit of skipping. But I throughly enjoyed this zany ride & can’t wait to dive into the third book…
Heads up for some spicy open door scenes & a few swears
“I require you to ignore this man, sir. He's lying, he is not my husband; he is a pirate."
“It was an imperfect moment, but she would remember it for the rest of her life.”
