So, the cute moments between the hero and heroine in isolation where cute for the most part and had me squealing and whatnot, but where sometimes broken by the narration for me. This brings me to my next point; the main character was a snobby holier-than-thou bitch. Throughout the ENTIRE book she was thinking very snide rude remarks about every character. She judged them based on their appearance- like not a single fucking character was likeable except the hero from what I read- I say that because around the 60% mark I started skipping huge chunks of the book.
None of the characters really had any personality except for the barest, most superficial shit. Again, not helped by the shitty protagonist's narration and characterization of them.
I really liked the idea of the arc room being a kind of home-away-from-home kind of thing for the protagonist. And the thing about the fairy lights being added genuinely had me grinning.
I also was laughing out loud during the mistaken-wedding scene.
While there were a couple moments here and there that I enjoyed overall the main character gave me a headache and pissed me off- ruining the majority of the book for me. Not a great read and I just know that this is not going to be a book that really sticks with me- days, months, or even years after reading.
