Normally when I read romance novels, I want the main characters to end up together, but this was  not the case here. I found the main male love interest to be insufferable. Although he was dealt a tough deck of cards, he still acted foolishly and egotistically, and demonstrated so many toxic traits under the guise of just loving and caring about this girl (that he had simply just built up in his head) so much. Additionally, the characters are supped to be Gen Zers in college—they sounded like millennials, and the main male/love interest is written like a stereotype and sounds like the author has never actually talked to a young male before. It was a fast read, so I got through it, but I would not recommend this book.
