Stardust by Neil Gaiman
5.0

Neil Gaiman never fails to create such magical worlds with unique characters and stories. I don’t usually like when authors write in different povs but I always look forward to a new one by him. As always, Gaiman’s simple prose is fantastic and so full of whimsy without being overdone. He has such a talent for creating fully realized worlds without jam packing the book with confusing information.
For once I actually really liked the main character. At first I found him bland but Gaiman did a great job showing how Tristran changed during his travels.
I liked reading a book by him that was very classic fairytale fantasy (unicorns, goblins, lords, witches) but it still had his unique flair for wacky characters.
My only critique with this book is that it did lack a true sense of danger. I was never on the edge of my seat worried about what was going to happen next. There were a lot of people after the star yet I was never worried that they’d get her. However it did make this book stress free which I can appreciate from time to time.
If you like fantasy than you have to read this book!
This book had so many great quotes! My favorite quote was:
“He wondered how it could have taken him so long to realize he cared for her, and he told her so, and she called him an idiot, and he declared that it was the finest thing that ever a man had been called.”
