Daughters of Smoke and Fire by Ava Homa

4.0

Everyone should endeavor to read this book at some point in their lives. It was recommended to me via Intsagram by a Kurdish women, and I cannot thank her enough.
The story is a slow build and we follow Leila, who I found very emotionally relatable, as she faces the world.
I am ashamed to say I was ignorant of the real-world events that are referenced in this book and found the book to be eye opening and educational, even as it’s fiction.
