Oh I thoroughly enjoyed this. T Kingfisher delivers yet again on a unique premise, loveably weird characters, and captivating writing with a sense of humor. I loved Sam, though Hermes definitely stole the show. I know it’s not for everyone, but I’m learning I’m generally a big fan of southern gothic stories. This book is not overtly scary by any means, but it slowly ups the creep factor in a great way.
Side note, the acknowledgments section was so funny and it fully read my mind. Literally I was thinkingif I had a nickel for every time T Kingfisher wrote a book about evil magic roses, I’d have 2 nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
