“Cecily is an idiot.”
This was the thought that went through my head every chapter (if not more often). Her father is also an idiot. In every other historical romance I’ve EVER read, the marriage negotiations involve a fair amount of sleuthing, especially when money is traded for a title. If her father was such a great businessman, why did he drop the ball on this one? Maybe he wanted to be rid of her as badly as I did.
