The Undaunted: The Miracle by Gerald N. Lund
3.0
Naturally, I was really excited when I heard that Gerald Lund was coming out with a new book. And The Undaunted didn't disappoint. It's about a very little-known segment of Church history in Utah. A group of pioneers from the Cedar City area were called to serve as a buffer between the Mormon settlements in Southern Utah and the lawlessness of the four-corners area.
I was really amazed at what these pioneers accomplished. They cut a road through solid rock at some points and made their way slowly but surely to their destination. They found a way to take wagons through country that even now can only be traversed by ATVs.
This is just one more example of what kind of stuff our pioneer ancestors were made of. I have always been fascinated by the strength that pioneers consistently showed as they were asked to do difficult things for the sake of their faith.
