I have been putting this book off for so long because I just knew I would love it. I did. I loved it so much! Maybe I’m a sucker for the animal perspective chapters but this was just icing on the cake. Although slightly bittersweet, this is such a feel-good and wholesome novel.

Told from three POVs by seemingly unrelated characters (and Marcellus) until everything merges together throughout the book.

Marcellus McSquiddles was a whole mood. Funny and sarcastic, towards the end when he throws his captivity countdown out the window was too great, now he means business! Having the countdown be part of the plot really boiled the tension. I wanted to see everyone’s happy ending!

Tova and all the residents of Sowell Bay - Ethan was so sweet to her and the ladies of the Knit-Wits knitting club really looked out for each other. Cameron came off a bit younger than intended to me at least, but that made me more invested in his story about finding his biological father.
