The Book of Doors by Gareth Brown

1.0

1. bland worldbuilding consisting of a series of info dumps + stilted writing and dialogue

2. antagonist with no personality or motivation besides being "evil" and she is only "evil" because she's possessed by some spirit of despair thing??

3. antagonist commits mass torture and murder, the protagonist still thinks killing them is extreme. antagonist kills two rapists, the protagonist suddenly decides killing them is okay???

4. everything that happens after page 300 results from cassie's severe stupidity. why would you send barbary to 1970 and face the possibility of him living until current time instead of sending him to 1760 or something?
