I was a little worried at times that Chakraborty was straying too far from the main conflict at hand from the second book to this one, but then came to appreciate how she was able to weave all these different threads together, while throwing in some well-seeded twists, to bring about a satisfying resolution and conclusion to the series. I love when little throwaway lines from previous books come back around to have a deeper meaning to the story, and Chakraborty does just that with skill.
