I Never Had It Made: An Autobiography by Jackie Robinson

4.0

The uplifting story of a campaigner for Richard Nixon and Nelson Rockefeller who overcomes great odds to become the vice president of Chock Full O' Nuts. Also, I guess he played baseball.

I knew the baseball career, but was less familiar with Jackie Robinson's life after retirement, which is what a good part of this autobiography focuses on. He was very active in business, politics, and civil rights in his later years, and dealt with the tragic drug addiction and death of his son just before his own untimely death.

Good read to learn more about a great man.
