Married by Mistake by Abby Gaines
2.0
A nice little Kindle freebie.
This will sound like a contradiction to my rating, but this was a fun, light read.
HOWEVER, this was a short read and I was short on patience. It started off rather nicely until it got ... annoying.
The premise is simple enough. Heroine wants to marry jerk guy she’s with in a reality TV show, he tells her no, then the hero goes to the rescue so the show doesn’t lose face, thinking it was fake. Due to legalities, the marriage turned out to be real.
Then stupid things got in the way.
I just didn’t like the way it turned out. They let the issue go on and on before they decided they wanted each other. Hero would not admit feelings.
Heroine would be the sad, broken-hearted girl, it made me feel awful. I felt for her.
It was a cycle. Hero would be conflicted. He says/implies/does something cold.
Heroine's heart is shattered.
Repeat process, until HEA.
It took them months before they finally reached the same page.
I like to feel happy when I read a book. I got my HEA, but it got to the point where it took them so long and they were so stubborn that by the ending, I felt that it was just cheesy.
