Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles

3.0

2.5 stars. So I was trying to remember why I didn't like this book as much as everyone else did, but it's been a while since I read it, sooooo... I looked at some other reviews, and NOW I remember! Yeah, it's the cliches and stereotypes that did it. (Oh, and the epilogue was just, incredibly LAME!) but there are definitely things I did like about [b:Perfect Chemistry|4268157|Perfect Chemistry (Perfect Chemistry, #1)|Simone Elkeles|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1316637352s/4268157.jpg|4315675]. The first is that the bad boy is definitely bad! And the fact that he is in a gang made me realize that anything I know about gangs has been learned from TV or movies - I've never actually read a book about a gang or gang member! Shocking!!! So, I get a point for trying something new! I also liked how Brittany has a disabled sister - that is something you don't often see in YA novels, and it added a lot to the story - helped to show Brittany's softer side, gave her a conflict re. where to go to college, etc. Both these aspects of the characters kept the book from being a total loss, at least in my opinion, but other than that, the rest was very much what you would expect from a typical YA read. Still, if you're looking for something quick and easy, it might be worth a try.
