The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon

5.0

Hey! I finished 2 books today!

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, by Mark Haddon, was first advertised to me as a live performance at PPAC (No, I didn't go to it. Tickets are dang expensive these days.) So, when I found out it was a book I decided to read it instead. I downloaded the audiobook and have been listening to it with Erin Williamson-Salois.

The premise is that a 15-year-old boy named Christopher lives with autism, and one day while walking home he discovered his neighbors dog dead on her front lawn. Wellington the dog had been stabbed with a garden fork, and Christopher, who loves dogs, wants to solve a mystery just like his hero Sherlock Holmes, and he's going to write a book about it.

Lemme tell ya, this book takes some WILD turns, and the whole time we were like "Oh mah gosh no wayyyy!" Or "Holy shit, whaaaat?!?"

I can tell you he finds out who kills the dog, and far more than he expected to discover about his family, his world, and himself.
