Did not finish book. Stopped at 27%.
I really wanted to like this book, but reading it made it feel like I was slugging through it.
The pace and writing style are very off putting in that it is constant exposition. Even dialogue is exposition of the world building. The world building is very detailed, which I did like, but I felt like the book didn't know what it wanted to be.
I feel this book would have been better if it was strictly an exposition styled novel and less trying to be a narrative that it refuses to fulfill or carry. I am thinking like H. G. Well's War of the Worlds, where if this book was written with that similar style of story telling, this would have been so much better in my opinion.
But it isn't, and unfortunately, I don't feel like pushing myself to read anymore of a story that only 60 pages in and it feels like it isn't going anywhere.
