All of the twists (except Saela being a Siphon) felt obvious so it dragged on. I wish 50 pages were cut. Spicy scenes felt wrong and while the premise is close to the Empyrean series, the writing wasn’t as compelling. I may continue in the series if it’s a duology but won’t spend too much more time there.
