Bared to You
by Sylvia Day
If I wasn’t reading this for book club I wouldn’t have a picked it up or b finished it. This was a fast read I didn’t like the writing style at all. I felt like I was in traffic and the car kept stopping and starting, the writing was too jumpy for my liking. Although I did appreciate this was set in nyc. I will say I think the writer is good at keeping people hooked, just not for reasons I’d like.
Now onto the couple, oh boy. What a toxic relationship that probably needs therapy. As individuals I found them both to be very juvenile and hard to connect or root for. I didn’t appreciate how every time she said no he did it anyway, no matter what it was. He had a few good lines of flirting banter, but I found her to be boring. As a couple felt like every time they had a problem or argument they’d have sex and pretend it didn’t happen… ok that’ll work well.
I’m giving this two stars and I don’t think I’ll be reading anything else by this author.
