Rolling Warrior: The Incredible, Sometimes Awkward, True Story of a Rebel Girl on Wheels Who Helped Spark a Revolution by Judith Heumann, Kristen Joiner

4.0

I heard about Judith as people memorialized her in her recent death and was recommended to read her book. I accidentally ordered the YA version from the library, but I’m quite thankful I did. This is so well written and tells JH’s story beautifully. YA gives a good language structure to introduce tough subjects to kids and I feel that reading this version gave me ideas and tools to use in teaching my son about disabilities, activism, and our government. Thankful to have read this and thankful for JH and everything she and the many activists she worked with accomplished for our country.
