Bite Me, Royce Taslim by Lauren Ho
3.0
This book had a lot of things going on, and discussed life from a low class, middle class and upper class perspective, which i absolutely loved. Tbh it was really hard to keep on reading this book, the chemistry was just not it, and same goes for the storyline. This book had no right to be 300+ pages long when it could have been way shorter. I would like to talk about specifically 2 things in this book.
1. In the book Lauren address the serious and heart breaking turn of a athlete's life aka the ACL injuries. As someone who's friends with a person who had a whole national championship just at a step's distance and couldn't reach it due to the ACL injuries, i can understand this feeling and plot really well. The psychological and physical condition of such a person was described very well. Lauren did great with using this aspect of human life.
2. People who know me in real life will agree with me, when i say that i related to Vern on a big scale. Vern and his idea about making new friends and having a social life is quite similar to my own. But when Vern created a big mess for Royce i was a bit taken aback because no matter how much similar to him i might feel, that was still a bit too much. But character development on Vern's side in the end was amazing and much needed and appreciated
