i didn’t know anything about this book when i picked it up, but i knew it was highly rated online, so thought i would give it a try. unfortunately, it fell flat for me. it felt like a book that was trying to convince people why reading is important and can transport you to other worlds which as a reader i already know! i didn’t really care what happened with the characters and there were lots of plot points that felt rushed throughout. it dealt with some heavy themes but then everything got tied up with a nice bow which didn’t feel authentic to me. not my fave!
