P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern
5.0

I loved this book. It was sweet, it was sad, it was funny. Just like the quote inside the dust jacket promised.

I loved the main character as she slowly and clumsily tried to rebuild her life into something, anything after the death of her husband. Her friends and family supported her and helped her along the way. How wonderful for her darling late husband to send her encouragement and inspiration in the form of The List, something they had joked about but Holly never expected Gerry to actually carry out.

Lovely, lovely book.

Note: I really had a hard time imagining Hilary Swank as the lead in the movie version. Perhaps it is now set in the United States? Or she picks up an Irish accent? I'm guessing that Harry Connick Jr is Daniel. Again, can't quite picture it. Perhaps, like Bridget Jones the casting really does work to bring the book to life? But I don't know. I'll rent the movie when it comes out on DVD to see.

2021 Note: I'm listening to the audiobook before revisiting Holly in Postscript. It's been so long since I read the book that I wanted to refresh my memory.
