Girl, Forgotten by Karin Slaughter

4.0

A 4-star read. I read "Pretty Girls" by Karin, and I think that set the bar too high, to be honest. I liked the story. It was a tad bit predictable regarding who the father was but a lot less predictable about who the killer is. Karin did quite well in describing Clay, especially his relationship with others. He gave off extreme cult leader vibes in every conversation he was in, with that dark triad personality. You see it best when the mom talks about how Clay never marked himself as always being right. He would let you win some arguments and say, "I never saw it from that perspective," and then come back to you with some stats that only he knew. You would think, "Wow, he's really smart."

I was a bit confused about Mike's whole point to the story. He didn't really add much, especially with the whole fiancé thing. But maybe she added him because this is a series read.
