The Truth about Forever by Sarah Dessen
4.0

Book Review
“It was like Cinderella in reverse: if I was a princess for my daylight hours, at night I let myself and my composure go, just until the stroke of midnight, when I turned back to princess again, just in time.” The Truth About Forever was a beautiful and heart wrenching story of loss and reconciliation, and finding out who you really are. Macy and Jason have been together since they did a Romeo and Juliet project together in English-he simply changed her life. Macy’s seventeenth summer brings something new- a chance to meet new people who become her closest friends. The crazy pace that her new friends bring shakes up her SAT, goody two shoes routine and she realizes that she has finally found happiness after her father died. A sweet, but almost forbidden, romance seals the deal in this beautiful contemporary. As I finished reading, I couldn’t help but tear up a bit. I hope one day I can experience a sweet romance such as this one. Dessen’s novels are beautifully written and I can’t help but feel that I am friends with her characters, they are all so vivid and true.
