An intense study of a relationship on the rocks. It’s one of those books where you just really want all the characters to sit down together and get everything out in the open. But that is not how real life works and that is why this book has been celebrated as a great piece of literature. Some books make that heart-to-heart conversation seem so easy, but for many people it’s incredibly tough and tense and uncomfortable, and Washington has conveyed that beautifully. The only issue with that is that it sometimes makes for a difficult read, but isn’t it great when a writer can control your emotions so effortlessly?!
Big fan of this writer and I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for his future releases.
