This duology was phenomenal. This book, especially. The magic system in this world is unmatched and the vibes are immaculate. The characters in this series grow and change in a way that is fascinating to read. The first book was a little complicated to get into, but once I understood the magic system, I was all in. This book was a lot easier to understand because the world building was already established and I was able to just focus on the story.
I absolutely LOVED Elm and Ione’s story. I think that’s what made this book more enjoyable than the first for me. Elm was such a likable character and I was pulling for him all the way.
I also loved reading about the journey to find the Twin Alders. It was epic, scary, and thrilling!
Finally, the conclusion was everything I needed and more.
This is a series that I can see myself rereading in the future!
