Strawberry Shortcake Murder by Joanne Fluke
2.0
Despite reading tons of murder mysteries I’m AWFUL at guessing the killers/motives. Pretty much as soon as the killer was introduced I was able to guess who they were, and was able to figure out the motive really quickly. So that was pretty disappointing.
Also, while it’s a cozy mystery I find it a little... kitschy? I found myself rolling my eyes quite a bit. The main character, Hannah, is just too perfect and too “not-like-other-girls”, though that was toned down compared to the first book. I’m also not crazy about love triangles, and I find the Norman vs Mike love triangle a bit exaggerated. There is no chemistry with mike despite Hannah mentioning how incredibly hot he is, whereas she loves talking and spending time with Norman even though he is no where near as good looking... eeeeeeh not really my thing. I don’t know if I’ll be continuing with this series. Maybe as a light summer beach read.
