first book done in 2023 and honestly idk how any other book could top this. i've been trying to form coherent thoughts about this book since i finished it, and i just can't. this one was everything, the writing was beautiful, the characters were complex, and overall, i just could not put it down. this book takes place over decades and tjr seemed to catch each era of time so well? it was so beautiful. i also almost hate myself for loving evelyn so much. she was completely vial at times, without hesitation, and for some reason, i found myself rooting for her. it was a surreal experience i must say. i loved her, celia, harry, and even conner at times. every character infuriated me at least once and i still would die for them. everything was done with such purpose and so well too. i felt the twist at the end coming, i knew monique would be related to the situation somehow, but it still hit me, it hit me hard. and whenever a book makes me sob like that, it's an automatic win. i feel like i have so much more to say, but it'll just come out gibberish if i tried, so i'll just stop here. i completely get the hype now. i want to read all of her books. i'm addicted to her writing and i need more, so next will be daisy jones. wish me luck.
