Esemtu Vol. 1 by Raphaela Springer, Karin Springer

4.0

**TW**
This book contains details of murder, death and mentions refugees (I mention this TW as I know some refugees may feel uncomfortable reading about refugees because of personal experiences and it can set off PTSD). If a sensitive reader this book may not be for you.

Esemtu is the first graphic novel I've ever read! And my! It's like reading and watching a short film! It's so darned cool!!

Esemtu follows three university students who find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation. Looking to find the killer, they discover something more, something unexpected. Their lives change and so does everything they thought they knew.

I really loved this book! It was light and suspenseful all at once. The characters are beautifully portrayed and I love their friendship! All three of them make a wonderful team and it clearly shows.
Each character added in their own qualities to the story, Dave added in kindness, Ethan added in curiosity and Isabella added in her bubbliness.

Towards the end of the book we learn more about the statues and plates. We get hints about Gods and how it's all connected (I won't say here as I'm not to spoil a good story
