A grudging and just barely made 2.4 stars to this right wing doom porn prepper fantasy which can teach us some about tactics and gear, but which is full of shit on a number of items. (1) women are baby makers, rape victims, and cooks / cleaners who largely can’t be counted on in the crunch or to do anything that is “men’s work” as the right sees it. (2) the main plot device is right wing fantasy, which has been given the lie as we‘ve seen, in the last 8 years, just where the authoritarian police state overreach has its origins. But still, there are things to be learned here, and my library system had the book. I’ll start the next one and decide if it’s worth any more of my time. Edit - August ‘21 - started the next one. Early on it we are literally told that households with women in charge are bad and not useful unlike dudebro households. Dreck. Nope.
