First off the layers of this being duet and multi-cast added the cherry on top of my love for this read. I will forever love the guys and how they interact with each other in the best brotherhood and found family way possible. I even loved Osey (sorry if not spelling right audiobook problems) and now praying he gets his own book.

I loved Posey's antics with Halsey and how he bugs him but tries to help in his own special way. The text message thread was also my favorite along with Penny and Osey joining. The banter and antics especially with setting up the apartment was everything.

This does start out a bit of a grumpy x sunshine with Blakely falling under the sun, but I don't think Halsey is a true grump, more reserved due to his trauma. I love how Blakely even fell for taking care of Sherman.

Even though this was a he falls first, and harder, I do feel like they both took notice of what mattered to each other. From Blakely noticing Halsey's favorite dessert, prompting him about books, to him paying attention to her own favorite treats or preferences.

We do spend more time inside Halsey's inner monologue and spend some time in Blakely's later part of it. There are so many antics and fun in this especially with the mattress.

There is a bit of a miscommunication trope, but once they open up and learn to communicate they are perfect. Along with there being no third act was so perfect.

The spice although not all of it was for me, some of it very much was especially the love bites among other things. I also feel this book dove into deeper themes of grief, trauma, and making and choosing your own family. Honestly, if I wasn't stressed about life and work, it would've made me cry, but this still earned every star.
