Deadpool Classic - Volume 1 by Fabian Nicieza

3.0

Having gotten into Deadpool in a big way with the advent of his awesome movie, I felt like checking out his comics was the obvious logical step. It’s really interesting to see what the earliest incarnation of him was like, even if the super, super ‘90s artwork hasn’t aged gracefully. (And we’re not going into the Liefeld stuff. Soooooo much bad anatomy. Soooooo many pouches).

Regardless, it was a nice blast to the past, and one with stories that actually have held up surprisingly well. It was also cool to see Vanessa’s comic book incarnation, Copycat, fully aware and in control of her mutation. Overall, a nice intro to OG Deadpool and a good stepping off point to his other series.
